Forwarding Your Calls to Another Number from Your CISCO Work Phone

Unable to Forward Calls to Your Personal Phone

A TISD employee may not be able to forward their desk phone to their cell or home phone if their phone number is considered long distance (outside the 254 area), or if the employee has limited personal service. Instead,

  1. Change the desk phone greeting following the greeting directions below.

  2. Actively monitor TISD Outlook email for voice messages.

  3. Return the call using the phone conference feature of Google Meet.

VPN - Connect via FortiClient

Virtual Private Networking (or VPN) allows you to connect to the TISD network as if you were at work. VPN is only necessary with a Windows laptop issued from TISD and will not work on a home (personal) computer, mobile device, Chromebook, or iPad. Your laptop will have an application called “FortiClient” pre-installed by Technology. You will have access to:

  • My Documents

  • Pictures

  • Shared Network Drives

  • Desktop Applications or Shortcuts

Note that a VPN connection is not required to access any shared drives in Chrome or Microsoft OneDrive. You must have an active WiFi or Ethernet network connection to use the VPN.

  1. Connect to the Internet using your home WiFi connection or another shared WiFi outside of TISD.

  2. Find FortiClient in the Start menu / with Cortana search:

3. Within the client, select "Remote Access"

4. Use the same Username and Password that you do at the district. Note that the VPN name may vary, just make sure that TISD is somewhere in the name.

5. Your VPN link will stay active as long as your computer is logged in.
